Kosha Yoga Co. was founded in 2017 in Mumbai, India, by a young, yoga-loving couple, Harneet and Alok. The brand was born as a result Harneets futile search for the perfect yoga mat.


Being a certified yoga teacher, Harneet knew first-hand how difficult it was to find high-quality, high-value yoga products, which is why they decided to tackle this problem and created Kosha Yoga Co.

In keeping with the philosophy of Yoga, the brand wanted to ensure that their activities impacted the environment in a positive way. So Kosha Yoga Co. uses natural materials like 100% tree rubber, natural cork, organic cotton, flaxseed, organic buckwheat, etc. for their products.

A part of their proceeds are also donated to Kalote Animal Trust, a shelter for rescued animals located on the outskirts of Mumbai (find out more here).
Besides this, Kosha Yoga Co. also provides basic skills training and employment to underprivileged people, living in urban fringe communities. Currently, their Yoga bags are hand-made by women living in Dharavi, Asia’s largest slum (find out more here).

"We always wanted to do more than simply donate funds and understood the opportunity we had to impact lives through our activities. So, we decided to make ancillary products that didn't have to be produced in factories, but could be made by hand. Currently we're working with 5 super-women from Dharavi who hand-make our Yoga bags. We provide them employment and an opportunity to better their lives. Seeing their eagerness to grow and learn, we aim to soon have an entire range of products, that are made in Dharavi "

Even though adopting such sustainable practices is both time consuming and expensive, Kosha Yoga Co. is committed to developing an ethical and responsible brand.
After 2 years of starting the company, Kosha Yoga Co. has arrived in Poland with the aim of catering to the European market.
